Kicks Sports Bar, Hull

transforming A compact city-centre venue

with bright high-impact sports bar AV

Originally a diner in the centre of Hull, Kicks was transformed into a sports bar, turning it from a food-only venue into one able to attract trade in multiple ways and extend trading well beyond standard dining hours. Its large front windows gave the venue excellent visibility from the street, but also created a challenge for AV due to high daylight levels.

The installed system uses a carefully planned mix of screens throughout the venue, with a central video wall delivering the brightness and image quality needed to perform properly in a high-light environment.

The bar has bottles and bar supplies, and the entrance features large windows letting in natural light. There are multiple TV screens displaying sports and news, and a green emergency exit sign above the door.

Screens Everywhere

Carefully positioned screens that give customers a strong view wherever they are seated

To make sure customers get a great view from every part of the venue, screens were positioned throughout the space with visibility in mind. Suspending them from ceiling pole mounts allowed each screen to be placed exactly where it would have the best effect.

Back of the Bar

Bar-positioned screens that keep customers engaged without interrupting service

Screens at the back of the bar help keep the action visible even while customers are ordering, so the viewing experience continues without interruption and the venue can trade more smoothly during busy periods.

There are wooden chairs arranged around a table with some menus or papers on it. The room has teal-colored walls with two large framed artworks—one of a bird in flight and another of a woman with an artistic style and dark glasses. Blue blinds cover the windows, and the ceiling has a grid pattern with lights and a smoke detector.

Private Dining Room

A private dining space that adds flexibility, bookings and extra commercial value

One of the standout features at Kicks is the private dining room available for hire. This highly popular space adds another strong attraction to the venue, creating extra flexibility for private bookings, group events and more exclusive viewing experiences.
